Album value
Creedence Clearwater Revival — Pendulum.
First-press value.
Released in December 1970 as Fantasy 8410, Pendulum is the last Creedence album with Tom Fogerty and the home of "Have You Ever Seen the Rain." Originals came in a gatefold jacket on Fantasy's blue label and were pressed in large numbers, so a typical 1970 copy sells for $8–15. White-label promos and the Analogue Productions audiophile reissues sell for more than ordinary originals.

How to confirm a first-press
Three things separate an original from a later reissue beyond the catalog number.
- Original US copies come in a gatefold jacket; the 1983 Original Rock Classics reissue (ORC-4517) has a single sleeve and a barcode
- Runouts read F-2818 and F-2819 with a plant mark: H for RCA Hollywood, I for Indianapolis, R for Rockaway
- The back cover of the 1970 jacket lists the songs in a different order from the record itself
- Some 1970 copies shipped with a custom CCR catalog inner sleeve showing five of the band's albums
- 1973 reissues are on brown Fantasy labels with F-8410 printed on the label
The matrix runout etched in the dead wax is the definitive identifier when label and catalog number both look era-correct.

The ones that come up.
Check the label design (Fantasy blue label), the catalog number (8410), and the matrix runout etched in the dead wax. All three need to line up for a confirmed first-press. Original US copies come in a gatefold jacket; the 1983 Original Rock Classics reissue (ORC-4517) has a single sleeve and a barcode.
Hollywood (H) pressing in a clean gatefold with the CCR catalog inner sleeve brings the top of the NM range, typically $15–$30.
Often not by much. Pendulum reissues trade at $10–$26 per NM copy, against $15–$30 for a near-mint first pressing. A worn original can sell for less than a clean reissue, so condition matters as much as which pressing it is.
Pendulum was issued in stereo only as a first-press. The 8410 pressing is the reference.
