Album value
Aerosmith — Get Your Wings.
First-press value.
Aerosmith's second album, released March 15, 1974 on Columbia and recorded at the Record Plant in New York. It carries "Same Old Song and Dance" and the band's version of "Train Kept A-Rollin'." Originals are plentiful and most sell for about $10, but the catalog prefix on the jacket tells you how early yours is.

The first-press, by the numbers
Released 1974. The US first-press shipped on the Columbia label.

How to confirm a first-press
Three things separate an original from a later reissue beyond the catalog number.
- First issues carry the KC 32847 catalog number on the spine, the front cover's top-left corner, and the back cover
- Some later copies have a black PC 32847 sticker over the KC number on the jacket while the labels still say KC 32847; after that, jackets were printed PC 32847
- The KC prefix meant a $5.98 list price and PC meant $6.98; the change marks a later run, not a different recording
- Label matrix numbers are AL 32847 / BL 32847; Terre Haute copies add T1 or T2 in the runouts
The matrix runout etched in the dead wax is the definitive identifier when label and catalog number both look era-correct.

The ones that come up.
Check the label design (Columbia), the catalog number (KC 32847), and the matrix runout etched in the dead wax. All three need to line up for a confirmed first-press. First issues carry the KC 32847 catalog number on the spine, the front cover's top-left corner, and the back cover.
KC 32847 jacket and labels with no PC sticker, clean disc and sharp corners brings the top of the NM range, typically $15–$35.
Reissues use different label designs, different mastering, and were pressed in far larger quantities. Get Your Wings reissues from later decades trade at $6–$14 per NM copy. The first-press premium reflects scarcity, era-authenticity, and collector demand — not the music itself.
Get Your Wings was issued in stereo only as a first-press. The KC 32847 pressing is the reference.
